Challenger Launches MT600E Series High Horsepower Tractors
DULUTH, Ga. (Feb. 10, 2014) — Challenger®, a worldwide brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), is expanding its fleet of high-horsepower tractors with the introduction of the Challenger MT600E Series. Available in five models ranging from 270 to 370 maximum engine HP, these rugged and reliable machines pack more power under the hood with AGCO POWER™ 8.4-liter diesel engines, so growers can accomplish more each day from the comfort of the spacious, redesigned new cab.
“AP84-4 diesel engines are at the heart of what makes the MT600E Series so valuable for today’s growers,” says Conor Bergin, product marketing manager, High-Horsepower Tractors. “The new clean-burning, fuel-efficient design stands up to the most demanding field applications, allowing operators to power through longer workdays.”
All MT600E Series models are designed to take on larger implements with their high-flow hydraulics and beefy new three-point hitches. The proven, reliable CVT transmission provides smooth, efficient operation to match every task.
Powerful engines, multiple efficiency upgrades
All MT600E Series models feature six-cylinder, AP84-4 diesel engines. Now with twin turbochargers, these power plants deliver up to 1,136 foot-pounds of torque at low RPMs for enhanced pulling capability and exceptional energy efficiency. Maximum engine power is available in all applications, allowing tractors to deliver on their full potential, even under heavy loads.
The upgraded engines meet all Tier 4 emissions requirements, thanks to advanced features such as third-generation selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, a new diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system (cEGR).
The new CYCLAIR™ cooling package improves cooling capability without increasing the size of any cooling system components, so growers get more effective cooling in demanding conditions without compromising forward visibility. The hood and grill have been updated to increase intake airflow, while vents on the side let warm air out. A bypass system manages airflow to the intercooler while maintaining valuable airflow to the radiator.
Hardworking AP84-4 diesel engines provide professional growers with more horsepower and torque, improved fuel efficiency, plus a longer, 500-hour service interval that reduces downtime and minimizes service costs.
Hefty hitch and hydraulics, more capability
With an impressive 54 GPM of smooth hydraulic capacity, MT600E Series tractors offer a leap in hydraulic performance and capability. The robust system provides more stable flow for demanding implements like planters and air seeders, ensuring consistent, accurate control of the tool.
Redesigned cab makes long workdays easier
The tractor that never quits requires a cab designed for long workdays. The MT600E Series delivers with an updated cab loaded with features that boost operator comfort and productivity. The front axle suspension and Opti-Ride™ Plus cab suspension work together to provide a smooth ride in the field or on the road.
The new dashboard is designed around a bright, easy-to-read setup and system information screen (SIS) that simplifies navigation with a 50 percent larger screen that’s 10 times higher in resolution than the previous screen. The new B-pillar design collects important settings and controls in one convenient side post, reducing cab clutter and simplifying operation.
All models are equipped with new Auto-Guide™ 3000 fully integrated into the cab. The precision farming package features a simple Go Mode so operators can get in and get moving with minimal start-up time.
The five models include the MT645E (270 max engine HP), MT655E (295 max engine HP), MT665E (320 max engine HP), MT675E (350 max engine HP) and the MT685E (370 max engine HP).
The new MT600E Series tractors are built with pride by the experienced manufacturing team in Jackson, Minn. In addition, these tractors are supported by a dealer network that provides unparalleled support and parts availability to minimize downtime.
Growers can explore the MT600E Series in more detail at the 2014 Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky. More information about Challenger equipment, including a dealer locator, is available at www.challenger-ag.us/.
